life update – it’s time to hibernate

Dear reader, I am grateful that you are here. You witnessed the first month of my journey writing this blog. I feel like sharing with you the whole story of this exciting autumn, welcome you to my little, bohemian world.

I love the fall season. However, as soon as it gets dark and cold, I just want to hibernate and devour cookies. Basically, I could spend the entire winter in bed munching. Guess what, that never happens. Does it ever happen for anyone?

Instead, I ended up doing more than during the rest of the year. At least it felt like that.

This November was life-changing for me. Not only because I usually get very busy towards the end of the year. Mainly, because it scares me that another year is going to be over soon and there are still so many goals left unticked on my list. So, even though I would just like to sleep and eat I actually work a lot.

the biggest challenge this November?

I planned a book release party

This month’s highlight was definitely that I got to organize a book release party. I had been working on the novel nymphothek with a writer for 5 years. (In case you don’t know, I am an editor and copywriter.) It took years of writing and re-writing until we were both satisfied with the book. So, reading from it in front of an audience for the first time felt exhilarating. Actually, it was also a bit scary. I guess the things that are worth doing are mostly outside of the comfort zone. And what feels more empowering than overcoming fear?

going all the way for my dream

Talking about dreams and being scared. Honestly, I’ve always wanted to be my own boss. It’s one of the things that matter to me most in my life. I guess it’s the only lifestyle that fits my idea of freedom. However,  running your own business also means that all the responsibility is on you. It’s your choice whether you chose the path of convenience or chase a dream. The latter is usually much scarier but it rewards you with almost infinite motivation. To work on my dream, I gladly stay up all night researching and writing.  Currently, I am preparing and getting everything ready. In February 2019 I will officially open my business as an editor and copywriter (for German only).

this blog’s first posts

This blog is my autumn love child and it’s here to stay. I started with about forty blog posts I had written in September. (No, you haven’t seen all of them yet. But I want to mix them with fresh content.) The hardest part was finding the right style for the blog – meaning a great template. Aside from that, it took me a while to find the right style of writing in English for myself. Once I had found those things, It all started coming together. I am so happy about this little bohemian corner of the Internet.

After this eventful November, I am totally ready to hibernate. Yeah, I know it won’t happen, but I will take at least bake some cookies and take a nap once in a while. Thank you for starting this journey with me.

Hibernation sounds like a great concept for living creatures, I do not understand why we humans never adopted that. 😛
